Situated at the charming Largo da Graça in Lisbon, A Cabreira is a delightful haven that unites the vibrant spirit of a traditional Portuguese café with the refined touch of a gourmet grocery and wine bar. This multifaceted spot beautifully embodies the local culture, offering a seamless blend of café, bakery, beer store, cake shop, cheese shop, gourmet grocery, Portuguese restaurant, and wine bar — all under one welcoming roof.
Step inside and you are embraced by an authentic Lisbon atmosphere: the hum of locals savoring their freshly brewed coffee while standing at the bar, the tempting aroma of warm pastries wafting invitingly, and shelves stocked with exquisite cheeses, fine wines, and artisanal goods. Customers like Lyazzat Aitbayeva loved the “very local vibes,” especially on a busy Monday morning where the bustling crowd only added to the unique charm of the place. It’s this genuine, lived-in feeling that makes A Cabreira more than just a spot to eat or shop—it’s an immersive glimpse into Lisbon's daily life.
The menu is a celebration of classic Portuguese flavors presented with simplicity and heart. Start your day with a flaky, buttery French Croissant or indulge in a decadent Croissant Chocolate. The legendary Pastel de Nata here is a must-try, praised for its perfectly crisped crust and luscious, creamy filling that strikes just the right sweetness, capturing the essence of Lisbon’s beloved egg tart. For something savory, the Bitoque à Casa and Bitoque Grelhado offer hearty, comforting platefuls that hit the spot for an affordable lunch, richly satisfying without pretense.
Beyond the food, A Cabreira entices with its carefully curated gourmet grocery selections—cheeses that pair beautifully with freshly baked bread, a variety of fine wines, and a beer store with choices that cater to discerning palates and casual sippers alike. Gabri Salmeron’s experience highlights the thoughtful balance in their drinks as well: the meia de leite was delightfully balanced, the perfect complement to their crunchy yet subtle natas. Customers also appreciate the approachable pricing, with sweet treats like crème brûlée and wines available at steals that feel like a genuine gift to the visitor (as noted by Dheeraj Mangotra).
Service here is consistently warm and patient, bridging language gaps with friendly smiles and understanding, making every visitor feel at ease—just as Gabby Salmeron and Weronika Pogonowska experienced. Whether you're grabbing a quick espresso and pastry before starting your day or lingering over a casual glass of Portuguese wine and cheese after exploring the city, A Cabreira delivers an authentic, welcoming vibe infused with flavors that tell the story of Lisbon.
In essence, A Cabreira invites you to slow down and savor the simple pleasures: from the rich aroma of coffee to the delightful crispness of a pastel de nata, from affordable local fare to gourmet finds for your own kitchen. It’s a place where food, drink, and friendly faces come together, creating moments that linger well beyond your visit.
Very local vibes! We were here on Monday morning, lots of people, but that kinda made the atmosphere special, we were having our coffee standing! Delicious coffee and pastry!
Great prices, great service, good coffee ! We recommend the place!
Great coffee, amazing pastel de nata and very simple, typically Portuguese food, affordable lunch menu (max. 8€ for fish / seafood set).
Tourists.... Cross the hill and go there. Get a local's feel for super cheap. Creme brulee for 1.80, beer for 1.50, sweet wine for 1.50.... staff speaks English and patient with patrons.... Loved the place...
I did dine in and takeout (take-away) while staying Lisbon only for pequeno almoço / breakfast. The staff was friendly and patient despite me not speaking enough Portuguese. Their natas are crunchy and not too sweet, meia de leite is so well balanced. My dad got the pao mixto (bread with ham and cheese) daily and I rotated between sweets and was not disappointed.
Such a nice little pastry shop with great Portuguese tarts. The prices were cheap for the quality. The atmosphere was cozy and very quaint. I loved their service as well.
Nice service, buzzing place with many people eating a pastry or a cake at the counter. It has a lively atmosphere. I paid 4.30 for a double espresso and 2 pastéis i do recommend it
